A 26-year-old woman from Allan Saskatchewan is facing seven charges including possession of a dangerous weapon after an early morning pursuit in Saskatoon.
City Police say the driver of a suspected stolen car took off at a high rate of speed after being pulled over just before 1 a.m. at the intersection of Arthur Avenue and 15th Street East.
The car hit a curb and came to a stop at Spadina Crescent West and Avenue G South where the driver refused to get out and police believe she was threatening to harm herself so an officer broke the car window and pepper-sprayed the suspect.
She tried to run away but was caught after a short foot-chase. The man in the car was arrested without incident.
Police say they found a loaded syringe and hatchet inside the vehicle.
The 33-year-old man is also facing a weapons possession charge. Both are also accused of possessing stolen property.
