The intersection at 2nd Avenue and 25th Street has reopened to traffic following progress made on the Downtown water main project.
The City says water main lining work has now been completed, and crews are continuing intersection excavations, restoration work and preparations for roadway resurfacing.
As intersections reopen, some lane restrictions may remain while crews complete restoration work. Final roadway resurfacing on 25th Street will take place following completion of the remaining construction work. The final phase of the project is expected to include a water main replacement on 25th Street between 6th Avenue and Spadina Crescent. This work is anticipated to be completed in 2026; however, it may extend into 2027 depending on construction progress and weather conditions.
