Allergy season has been increasing over the last 11 years according to new information from London Drugs and Aerobiology Research Laboratories. Ali Vatanparast, a Pharmacist at London Drugs says in Saskatoon, rising temperatures are causing the amount of pollen and the length of time it’s in the air to increase. The pharmacist says there are different ways to treat allergies including antihistamines, decongestants, nasal sprays or eye drops. Vatanparast adds the right method of relief depends on an individual’s symptoms, medical history and medical conditions. Some of the symptoms caused from weeds, trees, bushes, and grass include nasal congestion, scratchy throat, sneezing, and itchy and tearing eyes. Since 2006 in Saskatoon allergy season has increased by as much as 121 days according to the new information. Vatanparast says it’s important for those suffering to know that the pharmacy is a good place to find the right method or methods for allergy relief.
