Fostering international trade is what the Saskatoon World Trade Center is all about, and spokesperson Don Atchison says that is happening even without a physical building.
Construction was to begin last fall for the 7 storey building on 22nd Street and 3rd Avenue South.
Atchison says an example of some of the work going on behind the scenes is the recent signing of an MOU with around 47 other World Trade Centers about finding opportunities in the import and export of agricultural goods, and that includes the manufacturing and processing end and agricultural research.
He explains that the WTCs connect businesses and industries in different countries at the grassroots level.
Atchison hopes there will be an update announcement on the Saskatoon World Trade Center in the next little while, but he says even without construction, there is work going on behind the scenes.
