The collision that occurred early Sunday morning at the overpass at Highway 16 and Boychuk Drive has claimed the life of a Saskatoon man.

Fire crews were called to the scene around 2:30 a.m., where they found the vehicle, which had crashed into the overpass, fully engulfed in flames.

The single-vehicle collision killed the sole occupant of a westbound pickup, and the family of the 27-year-old man has been notified. His name will not be released.

Traffic restrictions have since been lifted.
