The Saskatoon Fire Department’s water rescue team has suspended efforts after the search for a potential jumper from the Senator Sid Buckwold Bridge was deemed inconclusive.
On Sunday at 10:40 p.m., firefighters were told by police that reports were coming in about someone possibly jumping from the bridge into the South Saskatchewan river.
Witness statements were collected and rescue personnel used a boat to search the river while firefighters searched from the bridge using lights and thermal image cameras.
However, pending any new information, the search has since bene suspended.
The scene was turned over to Saskatoon Police Service for further investigation.
