The WintercityYXE Micro-Grant Program is giving winter projects across Saskatoon a chance to get a little more funding.

Grants provide from the program can be up to $1,000 if the outdoor project is approved. Projects that take place anytime between November 1 to March 31 next year qualify for the grant.

City of Saskatoon manager of Community Development, Tenille Thomson said the outdoor projects can range from skating to new-comer winter experiences to public art.

“So, the projects that were really encouraging are things that bring neighbours together, things that can bring people together.”

Thomson added the goal is to get projects that help the community thrive, and that projects don’t need to be super fleshed out to apply.

The deadline to apply is October 1. The city of Saskatoon website has resources for people looking to apply or if they have questions about the grant.
