River search operations resume today for the operator of a jet ski who entered the weir on Saturday.
The Saskatoon Fire Department will dispatch two watercraft to search the shoreline and river south of the weir using sonar.
Water rescue crews were called at 4:49 p.m. CST Saturday after reports of a personal watercraft rider in distress near the weir, adjacent to the train bridge and 33rd Street East.
On arrival, fire crews began a rescue mission with a specialized vessel designed for weir rescue operations.
About three hours later, the fire department stated that the rescue mission has transitioned to a recovery mission.
The personal watercraft (PWC) was recovered and turned over to the Saskatoon Police Service which continues to investigate.
