The Saskatoon Police Service received a report around 1:00 p.m. Thursday that a vehicle had been stolen from the area of 33rd Street West and Avenue H North.
And the report to police indicated it had been seen colliding with three other vehicles while driving in the area. Responding officers located the vehicle at 33rd and Avenue B North where a traffic stop was attempted but it sped off.
Police immediately disengaged from pursuit but kept on eye on it until the vehicle was seen entering a parking lot in the 3800 block of Idylwyld Drive North where the driver was arrested without further incident.
It was believed the suspect was under the influence of an intoxicant. Police also allege the suspect had stolen several items from the victims.
A 38-year-old Saskatoon man is charged with theft of a motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle in a manner dangerous to the public, evading police, failure to comply with a demand, impaired driving, theft under $5000, three counts of hit and run, and failure to comply with court-imposed conditions.
