More than 900 workers at Saskatoon Co-op could be on strike this Thursday. They are members of the United Food and Commercial Workers Local 1400. The union gave notice on Monday. The UFCW says the main issue for them is the employer’s refusal to bargain outstanding issues. The union says that includes a demand from Co-op to introduce a second-tier wage grid which would see lower wages for new employees.
