Improvements have been made to a portion of the Meewasin Trail near the Children’s Discovery Museum.
720 metres of the trail has been widened and has been freshly repaved from the museum to Duke Street.
Andrea Lafond from the Meewasin Valley Authority says the upgrades help improve safety with less people likely to crash or run into one another given the added space.
Improvements are still continuing with the replanting of the area’s native trees and shrubs.
The portion of the trail is one of the busiest with more than 215,000 visitors in 2016.
By the year 2043, close to 500 people per hour are expected to use the portion of trail during peak periods.
