Shining a light on all of us having the power to make positive change and to highlight what the YWCA is all about. That’s what the 2nd annual YWCA Shine A Light Run is all about tomorrow (Thurs) night. Event organizer, Fred Dyck, says the distance options are 2, 5 and 10 kilometres and the walk or run also includes a social afterwards in the gym with food and entertainment. Because the event begins just before dusk, around 6:30, and will end as night falls, participants are ask to light their way with headlights or flashlights or any bright lights you can find. Strollers and wheelchairs are welcome.
The event shines a light on the YWCA’s 4 sectors – the fitness facilities, the child development centre, the employment and learning centre and the crisis shelter and residence.
