A new area code is in the works for Saskatchewan. With the 3-0-6 and 6-3-9 codes expected to be exhausted by June 2022, 4-7-4 has been set aside. Sasktel’s Michelle Englot says they’re looking at the possibility that number exhaustion is in part due to the amount of numbers they can offer. The area code still needs Canadian Radio-television Telecommunications Commission approval. If approved, it wouldn’t be implemented until 2022.
