Maidstone RCMP pulled over a vehicle on Highway #17 near Lloydminster last Friday as part of a drug trafficking investigation and arrested two women.

Police say a search of their vehicle turned up approximately 101 grams of cocaine, 250 millilitres of gamma hydroxybutyrate, 78 grams of methamphetamine, a small amount of fentanyl, drug trafficking paraphernalia, and a sum of cash.

As part of the ongoing investigation, later that same day, Saskatchewan RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence in Lashburn, SK. Inside the residence, officers located approximately 33 grams of cocaine, 14 grams of methamphetamine, 1.2 litres of GHB, a crossbow, and a loaded firearm.

Thirty-four-year-old Chelsey Hart from Lashburn is facing five new drug and weapon related charges but was also arrested on an outstanding warrant from Maidstone RCMP for charges including robbery with a firearm, assault causing bodily harm, and uttering threats. The second female was released from police custody with charges pending.

The Maidstone RCMP detachment was assisted by Saskatchewan RCMP’s Lloydminster Crime Reduction Team and Saskatchewan Trafficking and Response Team.
