The Saskatoon Fire Department answered a call late Tuesday afternoon that started as a shed fire in the 400 block of Avenue R South but became much more serious.

The call was quickly upgraded after the shed fire spread to an adjacent home and then extended to a neighboring home and a cube van.

This was around 4:30 p.m. and three engine companies, one ladder company a rescue and the battalion chief responded to the blaze in addition to police and Medavie Health Services West.

Everyone got out safely and no one was injured.

The fire investigator is attempting to identify the cause, origin and a damage estimate.
