A Saskatoon-area woman has been charged after an RCMP investigation into the alleged misuse of funds from a victim’s bank account by someone holding Power of Attorney.
A Saskatchewan RCMP news release says the investigation began after a June, 2025 report that money had been stolen from the victim’s account.
Police allege the accused withdrew funds without the victim’s consent.
She faces charges of theft by Power of Attorney, fraud over $5,000 and misappropriation of money held under direction.
Her first court appearance is scheduled for November 18, 2026, in Saskatoon.
RCMP are not identifying the accused to protect the victim’s identity and well-being.
RCMP also reminded the public to regularly review financial statements and watch for signs of financial exploitation, including unexplained withdrawals, missing funds, sudden banking changes and unpaid bills.
