As rainfall warnings continue to blanket central Saskatchewan, a couple of well-known trouble spots in the Queen City have been closed to traffic. Drivers in Regina previously needed to find an alternate route if their travel took them through the underpass at Albert Street at Saskatchewan Drive, and Broad Street at Saskatchewan Drive as well as Broad Street at Dewdney Avenue.

Those areas have been closed to northbound and southbound traffic due to flooding at the underpass. Saskatoon, Prince Albert, Melfort and Tisdale regions are under a rainfall warning. Rainfall totals are expected to be 50 to 60 mm. Locally higher amounts up to 80 to 100 mm are possible in thunderstorms.

An intense low-pressure system will produce severe westerly wind gusts across portions of southern Saskatchewan including Swift Current, Moose Jaw, Regina, Estevan and Weyburn. Those areas can expect westerly wind gusts of 90 to 100 km/h beginning near noon Monday and persisting until early evening.
