Three people were to appear in Prince Albert Provincial Court Wednesday to answer to a laundry list of charges in connection with robberies over the long weekend in the Little Red River and La Ronge areas.
The list of charges for 26-year-old Brandon Corrigal of Sturgeon Lake First Nation, 22-year-old Acotia Bradfield of La Ronge and 27-year-old Kara Halkett of Little Red River can be found at the bottom of this story.
According to a Saskatchewan RCMP news release, the trio was arrested on August 3 near the community of Little Red River following their robbery spree that began on August 2. At about 5:45 p.m., Prince Albert RCMP responded to a report that two people with firearms threatened an individual, assaulted them, then stole their S-U-V and personal items at a residence in Little Red River. The victim was transported to hospital by E-M-S with non-life-threatening injuries.
On August 3, the La Ronge detachment received a report that three individuals with firearms threatened two people, assaulted them and stole their truck on Highway #2 south of La Ronge. The suspects abandoned the S-U-V that had been stolen the previous day and fled in the truck. The victims were assessed in hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
At that point, officers from the La Ronge, Prince Albert and Waskesiu RCMP detachments joined forces and located the suspects and stolen truck in Northside. The stolen truck fled from an attempted traffic stop and headed south on Highway #2. A tire deflation device was set up in the community of Little Red River, which the stolen truck drove over. It stopped shortly after with two females arrested in the truck while a male attempted to flee on foot before being apprehended. No further injuries were reported to police.
