Hundreds of people attended the ceremonies on Thursday afternoon in Yorkton, including Louis Dreyfus (LDC) Global CEO Micheal Gelchie and Saskatchewan Agriculture Minister David Marit.

The canola processing expansion more than doubles the current facility’s capacity to over two million metric tonnes annually. Two independent canola crushing, refining lines provide assurance of operational continuity.

The new pea protein facility will eventually have a capacity to process up to 75,000 metric tonnes of yellow peas annually into pea protein, pea fiber and proprietary pea starch.

⦁ 260 employees: By the end of 2026, the complex will employ a total of 260 people, adding 140 new jobs to the site (alongside approximately 120 employees working at the original canola processing facility, which has been operating since 2009).
