Charges laid in connection to Bear Spray
The Saskatoon Police Service says officers responded around 3:15 a.m. Monday to the area of 6th Avenue North and King Street after a report came in that a vehicle had pulled up to an individual and someone in the vehicle had a gun.
A suspect vehicle was spotted near Princess Street and 3rd Avenue North. A high-risk traffic stop was conducted and one of the passengers began to run away; however, a K9 track was conducted and the male was located and arrested shortly after. All remaining occupants of the vehicle were also arrested.
A further search of the vehicle resulted in police locating a can of bear spray.
A 36-year-old man has been charged with Possession of a Weapon and Breaching Court-Imposed Conditions.
Fight leads to multiple arrests Saturday
The Saskatoon Police Service says officers responded to an injured person report around 5:20 p.m. on Saturday in the 3300 block of 8th Street East after it was reported multiple people were detained by security personnel after a fight.
Arriving officers located the security guards and four suspects. Two youth males were arrested by police on scene and officers located bear spray in a search of one of the males. As well, a 20-year-old man was located with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries consistent with a fight . An uninjured 19-year-old woman was also located on scene.
Through investigation, officers learned two males approached another male and robbed him before a physical altercation took place and during that scuffle the woman allegedly reached into a bag and was believed to have pointed a firearm at the male youths.
The 19-year-old woman was arrested and a search of a nearby vehicle led to police to locating a sawed-off rifle.
As a result, two 16-year-old males have been charged with Robbery, Assault Causing Bodily Harm, and Committing an Offence While Masked. One of the 16-year-old males has also been charged with Possession of a Weapon, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, and Breaching Court-Imposed Conditions.
Evade Police Incident
The Saskatoon Police Service says officers spotted a vehicle around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday that had been involved in an evade police incident earlier in the week.
The vehicle was heading westbound on 19th Street and before officers could even attempt a traffic stop the vehicle sped off.
The Air Support Unit engaged and watched the vehicle come to a stop in the 2400 block of Keldon Avenue where a driver and passenger got out.
In a news release the police say the driver of the vehicle was then arrested by officers on the ground without further incident. A 36-year-old woman has been charged with Dangerous Driving, Evading Police, and Breaching Court-Imposed Conditions.
