It’s my Parting Shot for Week 2 C-F-L picks from The Fearless Predictor…..
Not a great start for T-F-P in 2026. I trusted that you would take me at my word that I had Montreal beating Hamilton because I hadn’t submitted my choices until last Friday – after the Thursday overtime contest between the Alouettes and Tiger-Cats. I then missed the other two Week 1 games as Winnipeg rallied to win in Calgary and Edmonton walked into Ottawa and looked pretty darn good in vanquishing the RedBlacks! I’m going to blame my 1-2 start on the fact that there were only three games, when there should’ve been four! That will be my story, and I’m sticking to it, if the following three predictions fail to make the mark!
Starting with tonight as Hamilton goes to Winnipeg. The Ti-cats are supposed to be contenders in the East Division, but are already oh-and-1 and could be 0-2 if the Blue Bombers’ offence does again what it did last week with Brady Oliveira rushing for over 100 yards and Zach Collaros continuing to have chemistry with former Hamilton receiver Tim White! I’m torn on this one, but I’m going to take another road team to prevail – Tiger-Cats by less than a field goal!!
Friday Night Football has Toronto making their season debut in Montreal. The Alouettes look very good – as advertised. I’m dubious about the Argonauts – even with Chad Kelly back at quarterback and a new head coach. The Als are at home and will win by more than 10 points!!
Lastly, the Saturday feature match-up has the defending Grey Cup-champion Saskatchewan Roughriders hosting Nathan Rourke and the B-C Lions. It’s a re-match of last year’s Western final that the Green and White won. The Riders also have history on their side when it comes to winning season-opening games against B-C. Yet, I think the Lions are stronger than last year – and hungrier – while Saskatchewan isn’t as good as they were last season in the trenches, on both sides of the ball. The Roughriders say all the right things about being ready for having the target on their back as the reigning champs, but I’m not convinced. I’m picking B-C by more than a touchdown!!
T-F-P is away for the next two weeks of C-F-L picks, but I know that you’ll trust my honesty as I keep up with things while I’m away!!
That’s my Parting Shot. I’m Les Lazaruk…and it turned out nice again…..
