A group of ducklings is back with their mother after a successful rescue by Saskatoon police.
Officers responded to a call this weekend after a mother duck became separated from her ducklings, which had fallen into a storm drain near Rutherford Crescent and Lanyon Avenue.
Police say officers used tools they had on hand to safely retrieve the ducklings from the drain before reuniting them with their mother. The duck family then waddled away together without incident.
The Saskatoon Police Service shared the story on social media, saying officers are proud to serve all Saskatoon residents — “even ones with beaks.”
