This is Missing Person’s Week, and the Prince Albert Police Service Victim Services Unit is hosting a Family Gathering Thursday where they will recognize individuals still missing and to support the families still looking for answers.
In addition to prayer and smudge, a song by a local drum group and a moment of silence, there will be an honor table displayed as a symbolic space of recognition, featuring photographs of each missing individual. Families will be invited to take these photographs home following the event as a keepsake.
Guest speakers include Cheryl Ring, founder of the Heart Spirits Project, whose work with handcrafted hearts honours missing and murdered individuals as well as Regina and Carson Poitras, parents of missing person Happy Charles. Happy Charles has been missing from Prince Albert since April 3, 2017.
