A pedestrian has died after being hit by a vehicle on Highway 55, east of Nipawin.

On Thursday at 6:00 a.m., RCMP were called to the scene alongside local fire and EMS. The pedestrian, whom officers are working to identify, was declared dead by EMS on site.

The driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene.

Nipawin RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.
