It’s not often that students in rural Saskatchewan get to experience live theatre.

That’ll change this spring for 14 schools around the province, because 25th Street Theatre is taking its’ production, ‘Luna’, on the road.

Actress Johanna Arnott says Luna premiered last year, but it was met with such a good reaction that the crew had to run it again.

“Luna is this beautiful story of a young girl coming to terms with loss, dealing with grief and losing parents, but it’s also a very funny and witty and silly show along the way.”

The pitstops will be made at Lampman, Davidson, Grand Coulee, Vanscoy, Martensville, Moose Jaw, Plenty, Wilkie, Mossbank, Blaine Lake, Leoville, Maymont, Hillmond, and Edam.

Following the performances, the students will get the opportunity to take part in improv, puppetry, playwriting and movement workshops with the cast and crew.

The play will also be hitting the Backstage Stage at the Remai Arts Centre on April 11th and 12th for three public viewings.

“In Saskatoon (last year) we only did one public performance, so it was kind of a ‘you blink you missed it’ type of situation, so it’s really exciting…We’re doing it again.”
