Residents in the community of Foam Lake are placing stuffed animals on their porches and doorsteps in memory of three people who were killed in a tragic traffic accident last Friday afternoon.
A 40-year-old woman and her two young daughters, aged five and eight, died in a three-vehicle collision during the noon hour last Friday on a grid road about nine kilometres west of Foam Lake.
RCMP investigators determined a truck was attempting to pass a semi when it collided with the family’s SUV. The girls’ father survived the crash with serious injuries. The driver and a passenger in the truck were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, while another was airlifted with serious injuries.
A 40-year-old man from South Carolina, who was in the area hunting, has been charged with three counts of dangerous driving causing death and three counts of dangerous driving causing bodily harm.
