Busy Blades Pre-Season Kicks Off WHL Exhibition Schedule

The Saskatoon Blades and Prince Albert Raiders will kick off a 61-game Western Hockey League pre-season schedule this fall.

The Central Saskatchewan rivals will meet on Thursday, August 30 at the Art Hauser Centre in P.A. That will be the first of four exhibition contests between the Bridge City Bunch and the Raiders. Prince Albert will play five pre-season games while the Blue and Gold will play seven exhibitions…the most for the Saskatoon franchise since they took part in eight pre-season games in 1998. One other highlight for the Blades, they’ll play a home exhibition game at SaskTel Centre for the first time in three years when they entertain Regina on Thursday, September 13 at 7 p.m. The complete Blades’ pre-season schedule follows in a news release from the team…

 

Blades Unveil 2018 Pre-Season Schedule

  Saskatoon, Sask. – The Saskatoon Blades and Western Hockey League announced the 2018 Pre-Season Schedule Wednesday afternoon. The Saskatoon Blades are slated to play seven games beginning in Prince Albert on Thursday, August 30th, against the Raiders. It’s the first of four pre-season bouts with the Blades’ arch-rivals; meeting the Raiders again on September 6th, 8th, and 15th. Saskatoon will also play two afternoon games in the Regina tournament against Moose Jaw and Swift Current on August 31st and September 1st at the Brandt Centre.

Blades fans will have two opportunities to take in pre-season action close to home. The first on Saturday, September 8th at the Legends Centre in Warman as the Blades host the Prince Albert Raiders. Then on Thursday, September 13th, the Blades welcome the Regina Pats to SaskTel Centre. Both home games are set for 7:00pm.
