Due to the recent rain, the Water Security Agency is warning the public of potential increased runoff and flows on small rivers and creeks.
Some water and sewer systems may also be overwhelmed, which could cause overflows or bypasses.
Environment Canada has released the rainfall amounts which are from noon yesterday (Thurs) to noon today, and the numbers have the Last Mountain area with the highest amount at 69.5 millimetres, (2.7″) followed by Yorkton with 60.6 and Kindersley with 49.5. Saskatoon received 35.2 millimetres in that time period.
Environment Canada meteorologist, Terri Lang, says there is no rain in the forecast for Saturday and most of Sunday and then there could be some thunder showers late in the day and then periods of rain for Canada Day.
