Since the beginning of the year, the Combined Traffic Services Saskatchewan have issued 1816 tickets for intersection violations in the province.
The majority of tickets were given out for disobeying stop signs, with 1289 charges.
The second most common rule breach was failure to stop at a red light. Two-hundred-and eight tickets were issued for this. Ninety-nine charges were laid for making a U-turn at an intersection with traffic lights, and 37 tickets were given to people who failed to drive cautiously through an intersection displaying a yellow light.
Finally, 29 tickets were given to those who failed to yield to oncoming traffic when making a left turn, and 24 people proceeded from a stop before it was safe to do so.
The CTSS is reminding motorists to quit making rolling stops, give the correct signal when making a turn, slow down when they see a red light, and use the right-of-way rule at four-way stops.
