A 19-year-old Saskatoon man is facing several weapons and firearms related charges.
At 5:30 a.m. Thursday, officers responded to a report of man pointing a gun at another person in the 300 block of Shillington Crescent.
Police say they located the suspect carrying a backpack and a machete while running between various businesses. At one point in the foot chase, officers say they watched him put the knife in a garbage bin.
The man disobeyed commands to stop and fled into the 700 block of Hart Road where he was taken into custody without further incident.
The backpack was located nearby and contained a handgun, a hunting knife and an expandable baton.
The man is charged with Pointing a Firearm, four counts of Carrying a Dangerous Weapon, three counts of Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Uttering a Threat to Cause Death and Breach of Probation.
