A public inquest into the death of Saul Laliberte will be held during the final week of October in Prince Albert.

The 33-year-old man was found unresponsive in his cell at the Prince Albert Police Service on November 7, 2021.  Laliberte was transported to Victoria Hospital where he later died.

The Chief Coroner holds an inquest into the death of a person who dies while an inmate at a jail or a correctional facility, unless the coroner is satisfied that the person’s death was due entirely to natural causes and not preventable.

Coroner Frederick Kovach will preside at the inquest.
