Blades Determine Hartel to be Odd-Man Out of Crowded Goal Crease

The triumphant return of Martin Psohlavec to Saskatoon meant the Blades’ crease was crowded.

So, the Bridge City Bunch did something about that Monday morning, re-assigning 16-year-old goaltender Max Hartel (pictured) to the Calgary Buffaloes of the Alberta Elite Under-18 Triple-A League. That leaves 19-year-old Taye Timmerman as the back-up to Psohlavec, the second round draft pick of the N-H-L’s Philadelphia Flyers, who stopped 50 of 54 shots as the Blue and Gold swept a home-and-home series from Prince Albert over the weekend. Blades reassign Hartel to AEHL’s U18 Calgary Buffaloes

Saskatoon, SK – The Saskatoon Blades have reassigned 2010-born goaltender Max Hartel to the Alberta Elite Hockey League’s (AEHL) U18 Calgary Buffaloes on Monday.

The Blades roster now stands at 26 players (15 forwards, nine defencemen, and two goalies) ahead of Friday’s home matchup against the Red Deer Rebels at SaskTel Centre. Puck drop is 7:00 p.m.
