Big River Metis Local 59 is putting on the 6th edition of the Voyageur Days Festival on Saturday.

People can get a look into Metis culture and tradition through the performances, food and the relay race offered.

For performances people can hear music by The Dean Smith Band, Lee & Candace, and the Traildust Band during the day time programming. The night time programming will feature the Jason Lepine Band with the Northern Prairie Dancers, Eliza Doyle, and Darryl Anderson to close it off.

The Relay Race will happen between 2 pm-3 pm. As for food, bannock burgers will be offered at noon and a Fish Fry Supper by Eddie’s Twisted Grill will be offered at 4 o’clock for $15.

President of the Big River Metis Local 59, Wanda Neufeldt, recommends people bring there own chairs to the day time programming.

“We as a Local feel with the economy so high, and so many families struggling with the cost of food and gas, we decided it will be free admission to all.”

The festival will start at noon at the dock for daytime programming. At 7 pm the festival will move to The Theatre for night time programming.
