Twelve people were arrested during an RCMP drug bust on the Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation on Thursday, about an hour northwest of Prince Albert.

Three residences were searched. The following items were seized —28 grams of cocaine, some money and half a dozen firearms—including one shotgun, two carbines and a sawed-off rifle.

Eleven of the 12 people arrested were released without charge, but RCMP indicate the investigation remains open and more charges are a possibility.

In custody is 57-year-old Sheldon Ahenakew of the Ahtakakoop Cree Nation. He faces severed drug and fire arms charges, as well as failing to comply with a release order condition.
