Both producer organizations filled their open director positions by acclamation.
The Saskatchewan Pulse Growers (SPG) will have one new producer director—-Rob Rigetti of Moose Jaw. The other two are incumbents—-Winston Van Staveren from Creelman and BJ Haubrich of Hazenmore. Terry Youzwa from Nipawin will depart the SPG Board in January having served two consecutive three-year terms.
The new SaskOilseeds director is Kaitlin Lake from Abernethy. There are three returning directors—Jon Fehr of Herschel, Margaret Rigetti of Langbank and Ed Schafer from Makwa.
Both producer-based organizations are funded by grower checkoffs. The Sask Oilseeds checkoff is refundable upon request, while the SPG checkoff is non-refundable. The grower levies are used to invest in research, advocacy and market development initiatives.
