It’s my Parting Shot for T-F-P’s Week 15 C-F-L picks…..
A third straight 3-1 week. And, I thought I was going to be 4-0 at halftime of this past Monday’s Battle of Alberta before Calgary choked and Edmonton took advantage. On to re-match week with redemption on the mind of three teams…
…with all games on Saturday. The lead-off game is winless Ottawa at Toronto. The Argos played on Monday while the RedBlacks had a bye week over Labour Day. The latter point doesn’t matter – Ottawa is a dumpster fire this year. The only problem would be if the Argos look past the visitors and think this will be easy! It should be – Toronto by more than a field goal!
Next up on quadruple-header Saturday is the Banjo Bowl with Saskatchewan in Winnipeg. A Roughriders’ win keeps a first place finish or at least a home playoff game very much alive. A loss means dropping back to the other three teams in the West and a lot of standings’ uncertainty. The Bombers desperately need the victory! The Green and White are still hurting, but I have a hunch they win by more than a touchdown!!
The third game Saturday is Calgary at Edmonton. The second half collapse back on Monday might be the death knell on the season for the Stampeders while the Elks should be buoyed with the win and want to show their home fans that they are for real! Some how, I hate to admit, but Edmonton is for real…prevailing by less than a touchdown!!
That leaves the last re-match game with the most time off between as Montreal travels to B-C. Don’t let last week’s 37-30 final score fool you, the Alouettes cruised to victory over the Lions. Can the Leos bounce back at home? It says here nope – Montreal is the class of the league and isn’t going to let a loss two weeks ago in Winnipeg derail them…Als by a similar score from last week, just under a converted touchdown!!
Three straight 3-1 weeks have boosted The Fearless Predictor’s overall season record to 31 correct prognostications out of 54 games – or 57.4 per cent. We’re creeping up slowly, but surely, on the money-making 60 per cent threshold – if I was a gambler, which I most certainly am not!!
That’s my Parting Shot. I’m Les Lazaruk…and it turned out nice again!
