Newly released statistics from Environment and Climate Change Canada show that July was hotter across the whole province.

The warmest regions were in the southern areas of the province. Many places had one of the warmest July’s they’ve seen in decades.

Saskatoon mean temperature was 1.8 degrees warmer than normal, making it the 14th warmest July in 131 years. Prince Albert had the 23rd warmest July in 142 years. North Battleford had the 18th warmest July in 84 years. Regina’s mean temperature was 2.4 degrees above normal and was the 9th warmest July in 133 years. La Ronge was among one of the warmer places at 2.5 degrees above normal, for the second warmest July in 62 years.

As for precipitation, out of the 11 centres surveyed, Meadow Lake was the only place that had more rain than normal.
