The Saskatoon Police Service has charged a 44-year-old man after a car drove into the patio of The FLATS Eatery in University Heights Sunday night hitting the building.

Around 8:35 p.m., as video from social media shows, thankfully no one was on the patio, a vehicle drove through the patio at the business in the 1800 block of McOrmond Drive.

No one was physically injured and police say officers spotted an empty bottle of alcohol in the car.

After being taken to hospital with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries, they say the driver refused to comply with further impairment testing. He was charged with Refusal to Comply with a Demand.
