The temporary closure between July 22nd and August 17th was announced by the Western College of Veterinary Medicine (WCVM) in a message to clients at the beginning of the month.
Becky Grambo from Warman has been a client of the Veterinary Medical Centre for more than three decades. She raves about the care her rabbits and parrots have received over that period.
Exotic animals cover a wide variety of species including rabbits, pet birds, snakes, lizards and guinea pigs. Grambo says veterinary students have an opportunity to train with a wide range of animals, including injured wildlife, an opportunity offered at few veterinary colleges.
While the exotic pet treatment will resume August 17th, a date has not been set for the wildlife recovery services. The program is currently under an WCVM review. Living Sky Wildlife Rehabilitation is urging its supporters to send letters and emails to the WCVM.
