Four people have been arrested after a suspicious vehicle stop near the Patience Lake mine led to the seizure of a sawed-off shotgun and several firearms charges.
Corman Park Police Service and Saskatoon RCMP responded Saturday afternoon to a report of a suspicious vehicle near Highway 5, where officers determined the driver was impaired by a drug following a roadside sobriety test. A search of the vehicle uncovered a sawed-off 12-gauge shotgun, and a 50-year-old man later claimed ownership of the firearm; police say he was already prohibited from possessing any firearms and has been remanded into custody.
The driver’s licence was suspended, the vehicle was impounded, and police are continuing the investigation as the matter moves through the courts.
