The 2026 version of the Okotoks Dawgs appears to be capable of making a bid for a ninth W-C-B-L championship, showing off their solid, all-round game Wednesday in a 10-5 victory over the Saskatoon Berries at Cairns Field.
The result gave Okotoks a sweep of the two-game stop in Saskatoon, having won Tuesday by a 9-6 score in 11 innings. The Dawgs now have four straight wins and a 24-9 record overall – good for a one-game lead on Lethbridge atop the West Division. The loss was the fifth in eight games for the Berries, now tied for top spot in the East Division with Moose Jaw – both with 21-11 records. Okotoks made the debut of Saskatoon right-hander Zachary Landreville a tough one, touching him for six runs on eight hits in the first three innings. The Dawgs managed 15 hits in total off Berries’ pitching. The highlight for Saskatoon was a three-run home run from Gael Salinas as the second baseman extended his consecutive-game hitting streak to 15 games. The Berries have Thursday off, then open a run of four games in three days against Swift Current. Saskatoon visits the 57s on Friday before the teams get together for a doubleheader on Saturday and a Sunday matinee at Cairns Field.
