The search continues today for a missing jet ski operator on the South Saskatchewan River.
Saskatoon Fire Department crews were called to the area near the weir, adjacent to the train bridge and 33rd Street, shortly before 5 p.m. Saturday after reports of a rider in distress.
Firefighters launched a rescue operation using a specialized vessel designed for weir rescues. However, officials say the effort later transitioned into a recovery mission.
The fire department continued searching for the missing operator and asked the public to avoid the area.
