Around 1:50 pm on June 11, Battlefords RCMP officers initiated a traffic stop after observing a car with no license plate driving on 15th Avenue in North Battleford.
The investigation found that the passenger of the car was wanted on warrant by Battlefords RCMP for charges including possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, escape lawful custody, and possession for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine.
Officers arrested the male passenger. During a search of the car, officers located and seized two grams of psilocybin, 35 grams of methamphetamine, 1.66 kilograms of illicit cannabis, and drug trafficking paraphernalia.
41-year-old James Bruynooghe from North Battleford, has been charged with
- One count, possession for the purpose of distributing
- Four counts, fail to comply with release order condition
- One count, possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- One count, possession for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine
Bruynooghe appeared in North Battleford Provincial Court on June 12.
