A shooting on the Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation has drawn an increased police presence to the area.

The first report came in Saturday night at 8:47 p.m., and several others have come in since, indicating gun shots in the area.

The public is asked to avoid the areas where officers are working and follow any police direction provided. RCMP say the residents in the region should stay inside their homes during the investigation.

If an imminent risk to public safety is identified, the public will be notified by RCMP.
