A Regina man is facing charges following an early morning Break and Enter on Quincy Drive.
Friday just after 4:00am, Police were dispatched to the area for a report that a suspicious man was loading various construction items into a taxicab.
Upon arrival, officers say the suspect had fled on foot after a resident came out of their house and informed the taxi driver the items were likely stolen from a nearby construction site.
Officers searched the area and recovered tools, electronics, household items and other goods stuffed into pillowcases that had been discarded on the sidewalk. A nearby construction trailer appeared to have been broken into.
The suspect was located with help of the Canie Unit and taken into custody. He was taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries he sustained from the police dog bite. The man was in possession of tools, a bike, a backpack filled with various items as well as keys and identification cards belonging to someone else.
As a result, 23-year-old Waylon Prosper is facing 6 charges and will make his first appearance on these charges in Regina Provincial Court on Monday.
Prospers charges include:
2 x Break and Enter [CC 348(1)(b)];
Theft Under $5,000 [CC 334(b)];
2 x Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 [CC 355(b)];
Fail to Comply With Condition of an Undertaking [CC 145(4)(a)].
