Hope is the most important word in the mental health dictionary.

TSN sports commentator Michael Landsberg made the comment in a presentation to farmers attending the SaskCanola annual general meeting in Saskatoon.

Landsberg’s initial experience with depression and anxiety occurred in 1998 while doing the sports talk show “Off the Record”. He went on medication and had sessions with a psychiatrist. However, Landsberg did not speak publicly on the mental health issue until ten years later. It occurred during an interview with former NHL player Stephane Richer, who was also diagnosed with depression.

The response from viewers to that conversation encouraged Landsberg to speak about his experiences at presentations across the country. He is also involved with a non-profit group called #SickNotWeak.
