Two of the topics from Wednesday’s Question Period were about safety improvements to the highway intersection where the Humboldt Broncos bus and semi collided and the amendments to legislation around trespassing introduced on Tuesday.

Saskatchewan’s official opposition asked for an update about  highway improvements for safety, and particularly the the intersection of Highways 35 and 335 where the tragic accident happened last April.
Highways minister Lori Carr says an independent study is underway for that intersection where the tragic accident occurred.
They await the final results and the province will implement changes based on the study.
The NDP says councilors in the local RM have called for rumble strips to be installed at the intersection.

NDP critic Trent Wotherspoon believes the amendments to trespass legislation introduced in the Legislature on Tuesday are flawed.
He said during Question Period today (Wed) that it is causing racial tensions.
The Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations has said there was no consultation with First Nations and it may interfere with Treaty Rights to hunt, fish and gather.
Justice Minister replied that the people in rural Saskatchewan should have the same rights that everyone else has.
The legislation requires those seeking access to rural land to seek permission before entering.
