A program helping high school students in Saskatoon has celebrated its 15th anniversary. Rotary’s Restorative Action Program also known as the RAP program has been helping students that are dealing with a variety of issues including bullying, crime, mental health, suicide and self-harm. Jack Brodksy, Chair of the RAP Board of Directors says when the program first started, the RAP program only ran out of one high school and now the program is in a total of nine Saskatoon high schools. RAP workers work with youth to develop and practice conflict management, relationship management and leadership skills. To celebrate their 15th anniversary, last week the RAP program held their annual general meeting and presented former Saskatoon Police Chief Clive Weighill with the annual Pillar of the Community Award. The RAP program serves more than 8 thousand youth in Saskatoon high schools.
