Having a vulnerable family member or friend go missing, even for a short time, is every caregiver’s nightmare.
President of the Saskatchewan Association of Chiefs of Police, Marlo Pritchard, says that’s why they are partnering with MedicAlert Foundation Canada on a vulnerable person registry.
The MedicAlert Connect Protect service gives police direct access to a subscriber’s recent photo and personal information which includes a physical description, wandering history, behaviour management strategies such as anxiety triggers, and the subscriber’s caregiver information.
For a limited time, Saskatoon residents can sign up to be subscribers for free.
There is a voluntary sign up session tomorrow (Thurs) from 10 am to 6pm at the Saskatoon Police Service headquarters.
