The first major cash bonspiel of the 2018-19 curling season, at least locally, is done.
Darcy Robertson’s Winnipeg foursome downed the Japanese quartet skipped by Sayaka Yoshimura 5-2 in the final at the Nutana Curling Club Monday afternoon. The victory was worth $7,500 to the Robertson team while the Yoshimura squad takes home $4,500. Earlier Monday, in semi-final play, Robertson out-scored Ashley Howard of Regina 8-7 while Yoshimura edged Kristen Streifel of Saskatoon 6-5.
